About Pro Bono Australia

Pro Bono Australia has been the resource and information hub for Australia’s Not for Profit sector since 1989. Our purpose is to both increase the level of Philanthropy in Australia and to provide Not for Profit organisations with the resources they need to run effectively.


We were recognised internationally in 2001 as a finalist in the prestigious Stockholm Challenge Awards – awards that recognise enterprise in the field of social justice delivered on line. And in 2007, Pro Bono Australia was awarded CISA’s “Business of the Year" for using ICT to connect to the community.


Pro Bono Australia's Services

We have Australia’s largest database of Not for Profits; comprising tens of thousands of organisations across Australia. This allows us to comprehensively offer a host of services to the community sector including:

  • Directory of Not for Profit organisations
    Pro Bono Australia publishes Australia’s largest and most widely distributed listing of Not for Profit organisations.

    The Directory is Australia’s foremost ‘guide to giving’ and can be used when considering a donation or bequest, when developing a Corporate Community partnership or giving an in-kind contribution.

    Each year a hard copy of the directory is sent free of charge to 56,000 qualified professionals nationally including solicitors, accountants, philanthropic trusts & foundations and top companies. It is also published on-line.



  • e-News Services
    Pro Bono Australia’s Not for Profit e-News service is distributed to over 18,000 in the community sector each fortnight – it contains all the latest news and information for the sector – you can subscribe free of charge.

    We also publish a monthly Corporate Community e-News service, distributed to over 1,800 readers in Australia’s Top Companies. If you’re interested in the issues of Corporate Social Responsibility it’s also free to subscribe.
